This General Electric 1.5-ton central air conditioning system is a cooling-only system. An electric heat strip can be added to the air handler for minimal heat capability. This type of air conditioning system is ideal for areas with warmer climates because it is primarily used for cooling.

This central air conditioning systems is made up of two system components: an outdoor condensing unit known as the "compressor", and an indoor air handler unit, also known as the "blower or evaporator". The outdoor condenser is suitable for ground or rooftop installation and the indoor air handler comes factory-ready for upflow installation but is also suitable for upflow, downflow, horizontal-left and horizontal-right applications.
